Our Rogerstone team has once again partnered with the STEMworks program. Students from two local schools were invited to our manufacturing facility last week for an educational visit. The participating students were winners from an engineering workshop held in November. While on their visit, they were given a tour of the facility along with a demonstration of our 3D printer, which they observed build an artificial limb. The hands-on demo provided the students with a chance to see how advanced technologies are opening up new opportunities in the manufacturing industry.
Throughout 2016 TT Electronics have demonstrated continued support and dedication to the STEMworks project across several of our sites. Most recently two Test Technicians and a Production Engineer from our Rogerstone facility have taken part in various workshops in three schools local to the Newport area.
We are proud to share that the TT Electronics team in Perry, Ohio participated in the Adopt-A-Family program for the fifth year in a row. This program provides families in the local community with assistance during the Christmas season. This year we adopted three children and each child will be receiving up to six gifts this Christmas thanks to the fundraising efforts of the Perry team. The team members are looking forward to continuing this tradition next year.
On June 15th 2016 TT Electronics Integrated Manufacturing Services hosted six students from Northleach and North Cerney primary schools at its Fairford facility. During the visit the students were inspired by a shop floor tour and a 3D printing workshop featuring Fairford’s newest technology. The students were able to develop their computer-aided design skills using CAD tools and had the opportunity demonstrate their capabilities by making specialised multi-core cables. The students also had a chance to observe a 3D printing workshop. Our Fairford staff was pleased to welcome the children from their local schools and look forward to collaborating with STEMworks in future projects.
Last month, the TT Electronics-IMS team in Perry, Ohio participated in a raffle to support a local charity called Sub Zero Mission. Perry raised $390 for the charity by raffling off a $100 gift card that TT Electronics generously donated for the event. The money was used to purchase 17 military grade sleeping bags. Other items donated to the charity were winter coats, socks, hats, gloves, and boots.

It came as no surprise to us that many of the presentations at the upcoming MD&M West trade show revolve around product development. With new medical technologies being released in the market every day, having the best tools to bring a product to life is crucial for every manufacturer. Medical OEMs look to their EMS provider to offer not only the best processes and highest quality standards, but the industry expertise and experience that can guide new product introductions seamlessly through development.
MD&M West is coming up soon, and this year a hot topic for the show is managing risk. It has become increasingly important that medical device manufacturers align with an EMS provider that has structure and support mechanisms in place to mitigate the inevitable risk that comes with designing and manufacturing the innovative medical technologies of the future. That means upholding the industry's highest quality standards, maintaining a robust product lifecycle management program, backed by an experienced engineering team.
We are thrilled to attend MD&M West in sunny Anaheim, California again this year. For the past 9 years we’ve had the opportunity to exhibit at the show and set up our display alongside medical companies who are changing the game in medical electronics.
