As experts in low volume, high mix electronics manufacturing services, TT Electronics works hard to ensure that our customers recieve the optimal support when it comes to supply chain management. Supply chains are increasingly complex and the global nature makes them vulnerable to a wide range of risks. Preparing for those risks and being there to supply our customers is our top priority.
On June 15th 2016 TT Electronics Integrated Manufacturing Services hosted six students from Northleach and North Cerney primary schools at its Fairford facility. During the visit the students were inspired by a shop floor tour and a 3D printing workshop featuring Fairford’s newest technology. The students were able to develop their computer-aided design skills using CAD tools and had the opportunity demonstrate their capabilities by making specialised multi-core cables. The students also had a chance to observe a 3D printing workshop. Our Fairford staff was pleased to welcome the children from their local schools and look forward to collaborating with STEMworks in future projects.
TT Electronics took part in another impressive charity bike ride last weekend, and this time the participants included CEO Richard Tyson and CFO Mark Hoad. The team traveled 500 miles in just 5 days to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support and local community projects. Richard Tyson and Mark Hoad joined the team for the last leg of the trip and stopped by our IMS facilities in Fairford and Rogerstone. Click here to see pictures from their visit.
Last month, Steve Davies (CI Leader, IMS Rogerstone), participated in the first of a series of STEMworks workshops at Pentrepoeth School. Throughout the two-day session, eight teams of three students were tasked with developing a fairground ride that would hold 20 passengers and last for 30 seconds.
Each team was given Flowol 4 software and K’nex kits as tools to construct the project. All teams were involved in programming the ride with various speeds and direction changes utilising LED lighting and sound. The teams were then scored on meeting the basic specifications that were given to them at the beginning of the workshop along with safety and any other unique features they developed.
For the past four years, the TT Electronics-IMS team in Perry, Ohio has supported The Adopt-A-Family Association. This program provides families in the local community with assistance during the Christmas season. This year we adopted nine children and each child will be receiving up to 10 gifts this Christmas thanks to the fundraising efforts of the Perry team. TT Electronics also contributed three children’s bikes to the large amount of gift donations.
Last month Jason Arnold, Business Development Manager based in Rogerstone, participated in an event for the Movember Foundation to raise money for men’s health in the UK. Movember Foundation is a global charity that is committed to raising awareness for men’s health by focusing on issues including cancer, mental health and physical inactivity. The event takes place throughout the month of November and participants raise money for going shave free for 30 days. Jason was able to raise £250 through his efforts and TT Electronics matched his funds for a total contribution of £500 pounds dedicated to the cause.
For several years, the TT Electronics-IMS team in Fairford has provided support for STEMworks, an initiative that works with schools, businesses, and other organisations promoting STEM skills (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths).
Last month one of our skilled technicians, Alun Roberts added some valuable manufacturing experience to a “Build and Program Robots” workshop at Northleach Primary School in Gloucestershire.

Last month, TT Electronics-IMS held an all-day event at our facility in Fairford, England. The day was filled with activities including a presentation from our European Managing Director, Alex Baldock, and a plant tour from our Fairford Site Director, Mark Cook. Throughout the day, team members and customers alike enjoyed watching the The Royal International Air Tattoo show from our facility. The highlight of the day was watching the Red Arrows escort a Vulcan Bomber across the sky on its final flight. Click here to watch that historic moment.
We wanted to take a moment to thank all who attended the event, and we look forward to doing it again next year. Contact us here if you are interested in participating in future events like this one at our Fairford facility.
